What is the best way to celebrate milestones in your marriage? It’s simple. Explore the world together. A trip around the world is much more exciting than taking circles of vows around the pious fire. So, we did. We took a Singapore trip from Mumbai to celebrate our first marriage anniversary.

Since it was our marriage anniversary, it had to be an amazing destination where we enjoy partying and having fun. Singapore was the first destination that came to our mind as it is one of the world’s best-known destinations for tourism and obviously near to India. Also, the weather of Singapore in May was fine to go sightseeing and exploring the interesting nooks of the city.

Trip Type: Couple’s trip
Trip Duration: 4N/5D
Trip Cost: INR 127,100
Inclusions: Airfare, Airport transfer, Breakfast, Visa, Sightseeing
Exclusions: Lunch, Dinner, Travel Insurance

Here is a detailed itinerary of all the places that we visited in Singapore in May. Each day on our holiday was full of excitement and thrill, the last being the best. Read on to know more.

Day 1: Gardens By The Bay & Marina Sands Singapore

We began our trip to Singapore in May by visiting the Gardens by the Bay. The iconic attraction of Singapore is one of the most brilliant places to be created by man. The garden was so huge that it took us hours to explore the whole place. It was amazing to see plants of different varieties breathing amidst an urban landscape. The garden is also famous for having the world’s largest indoor waterfall in misty Cloud Water Dome. In the evening we visited Marina Bay which is right next to the garden. It was again a fine example of marvelous architecture.

Day 2: Sentosa Island

Sentosa Island

The next day was spent on the happening Sentosa Island. It was a small, happy world of its own. Even a full day was not enough to explore all the attractions on this island. We too a one-way cable car to Sentosa and also enjoyed Luge & Sky ride. The highlight of the day was Wings of Time where we enjoyed watching colorful laser and light show. It was a stupendous experience.

Day 3: Singapore Zoo & Clarke Quay

Me and My Wife at Singapore Zoo

Singapore Zoo

Singapore Zoo was a fun place to visit where we watched wild animals in their natural habitat. We saw elephants, Sumatran orangutans, giraffes, rhinos, and lions. The zoo was vast and dense. We also grabbed the opportunity to hop on the night safari though it was not much fun as I had expected. After meeting the wild animals in the zoo, it was time for us to get wild and party like crazy. And, party, we did. Clarke Quay had so many happening bars and restaurants by the riverside.

Day 4: Universal Studios

Lovely Click Happy Faces

Universal Studious

This was the best day of my trip (also, my life). Universal Studios is a place where even adults go berserk with fun. We had such a blast and met our favorite characters. The place is so huge that it can get tiring to explore everything on foot. Thankfully, we had reserved our seats on the coach. It was one hell of an experience.

Day 5: Hasta la Vista

My Wife And Me

Bye Bye Singapore

We checked out of our hotel room after a sumptuous breakfast and bid adieu to Singapore until next time.

We had done bookings at the Hotel Moon 23. The location of the hotel was quite a distance
from the airport but had two of the MRT Stations at walking distance from the hotel which was a
great thing. The rooms were a little smaller in size but it hardly mattered. The services,
hospitality, and hygiene were good. So, we were satisfied with our stay.

We visited a number of restaurants in Singapore on the go. I do not remember the names though but Little India, Sentosa Island are some of the places where you will find good restaurants to dine in. There were a couple of good restaurants in Singapore Zoo. the cost different from place to place. I would also recommend travelers to savor street food in Singapore as it is truly delicious and worth exploring. You will find a variety of dishes to try and the price is cheap too.

We spent a few hours shopping at Bugis Street, Raffles Space, Central Mall in Clarke Quay. I would suggest travelers buy a lot of stuff like souvenirs, clothing, accessories, etc from Bugis Street.

We visited there in the month of May when it was hot but pleasant. Thankfully, the frequent downpours kept the temperatures in check and provided us relief with the hot climate. Honestly, we did not mind the weather so much and enjoyed all of it.

Do’s :

Please obey the rules and regulations everywhere in Singapore to avoid hefty fines.
Visit Gardens By The Bay and any two attractions in it without fail.
Travel by MRT and save money on Cabs. MRTs are very convenient and easy.
Use Grab On app for booking cabs at cheaper rates.

Don’t’s:

Don’t forget to do all the things mentioned in the Do’s!
Visiting Night Safari is a waste of time though few people like it.

  • Travel by MRT. Cabs are expensive.
  • Make sure you visit each and every attraction in Singapore, they are worth it!
  • Customize and plan your budget trip with Travel Triangle for a hassle-free trip.

It was a really good experience with TravelTriangle. The agent guided us well from the beginning and till the end of the trip. Everything was well planned and was executed without any kind of trouble related to time management. I already have a couple of trips already on the list with Travel Triangle. Keep up the good work.

Singapore in May can be an exciting time to take a vacation, especially if it is your anniversary month. Though you should not look for reasons to go on a holiday in Singapore with your spouse or family. Life is short. Make it count with exhilarating experiences and fun trips as Rohan’s.

Burj Khalifa

Taj Mahal top view

As apparent as it is, there is a huge difference in the size of Burj Khalifa and Taj Mahal. While Burj Khalifa is regarded as the tallest building in the world with a height of 830 meters, Taj Mahal is 73 meters tall.

Taj Mahal during the day

Burj Khalifa and Taj Mahal are located in the same continent, Asia, but in different countries. While the former is located in Dubai, the latter one is in India.

View from the top of Burj Khalifa

Interior of Taj Mahal

The list of experiences in Burj Khalifa is way longer compared to the list of experiences offered in Taj Mahal, owing to its bigger size. Even with that being said, this aspect lies uncomparable by all means.

Talking about what awaits in Burj Khalifa, let’s start with the entrance area. The park consists of flowering plants and fountains. In fact the landscape area is divided into three categories. Other attractions in the building are luxury hotel, art gallery, spa, library, base jumping, light & sound show, fine dining area, and of course the Observation Decks located at levels 124, 125, and 148.

The Mughal architecture of Taj Mahal acts as a major attraction, and strolling through to complex will introduce you to the intricate artistry in the olden era. This structure will leave you in awe right from the moment you enter. The landscape area features a manicured garden and an iconic fountain which act as a major photography spot for the tourists. The cherry on the top howevers is the annual Hot-air Balloon Festival which makes the landscape even more beautiful.

Dubai underwater zoo

Fatehpur Sikri near Taj Mahal

Even though Burj Khalifa and Taj Mahal stand as star attractions, the places nearby totally add cherry on the top.

Places near Burj Khalifa are more about entertainment and shopping. Dubai Mall, Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo, Dubai Ice Rink and Reel Cinemas are among the top attractions near Burj Khalifa

However the attractions near Taj Mahal will transfer you back in time. The archeological structures such as Agra Fort, Fatehpur Sikri, and Akbar’s Tomb narrate inspiring stories and showcases architectural brilliance which were adopted during the reign of the Mughals.

Burj Khalifa Familly

couple in front of Taj Mahal

Thanks to number of entertainment options in and around Burj Khalifa, this attraction in Dubai is visited equally by solo travelers, families and couples. But, since Taj Mahal stands as an epitome of love, this landmark majorly attracts couples. These couples come over to listen to the tales of Shah Jahan and his wife.

Fireworks in Burj Khalifa

Taj Mahal during full moon

Both Burj Khalifa and Taj Mahal are best visited in around winter season (October- March), as the area stays hot all year round. Winter is best in Dubai as the weather stays temperate, and there also are many events such as the Dubai Shopping Festivals taking place.

Winter in Agra, specially December and February, can be chilly. But as long as you are visiting during the daytime the temperature stays normal, allowing an easy and comfortable sightseeing session for the travelers.

Dubai Mall

Shopping in Agra

The shopping scenario near Burj Khalifa and Taj Mahal are indeed quite similar. The famous Dubai Mall is located right next to Burj, and even if you do not want to dig a hole in your pocket with luxury shopping there is always an option of street shopping. Similarly, Taj Emporia is the closest mall from Taj Mahal and local market isn’t far away either. If you love artistic items, you will be more than happy shopping around both these landmarks.

Manousheh

Mughlai cuisine

The area of both Burj Khalifa and Taj Mahal gives you a choice in terms of cuisine and budget. Whether you want to treat your tastebuds in a fine dine restaurant, or want to savor lip-smacking delights in the streets, the gastronomical journey in both the places will be unforgettable for you.

When in Dubai, we suggest you to try Arab cuisine, like Shayan, Manousheh, and Knafeh. In Agra you can taste the best of Mughlai and Punjabi cuisine.

Best Mughlai restaurants in Agra: Jahapanah, Pinch of Spice, and Karim’s

Ideal stay duration

Though ideal stay duration differ based on budget and attractions you wish to see, but in Dubai, at least a 3-day holiday is a must! However, most important tourist attractions in Agra can be visited in 2 days, so a 1 night 2 day trip to Agra is fair.

Ease of accessibility

Being major tourist attractions of their respective countries, Burj Khalifa and Taj Mahal have quite an easy accessibility regardless where in the world you are coming from. The nearest airport from Burj Khalifa is Dubai International Airport, at a distance of 14 km.

From Taj Mahal, the nearest international airport is located in Delhi, at a distance of 230 km.

Entry charges and timing

Burj Khalifa

Entry fee: INR 2300 per person (adults) onwards (You can click here for a detailed table of entry charges)

Taj Mahal

Entry fee: INR 40 per person (Indians) | INR 1000 per person (Foreigners)

However, a trip to Taj Mahal is covered in Golden Triangle tour packages. But, if you seek to visit Agra alone, then it can cost as low as INR 3000 if you are coming from Delhi.

However, in all means, it can be said that Agra is much cheaper than Dubai, specially if you are living in or visiting India already.

Day 2: Visiting Munnar
Day 3: Elephant Ride and Jeep Safari
Day 4: A day at Alleppey
Day 5: Departure

Here are some of the best experiences that we had during our most unforgettable trip to Kerala which included exploring the wildlife parks, witnessing the backwaters and many more.

1. A Visit To Blossom Park

incredible experience

We had never seen such a wide variety of flowers together making a visit to Blossom Park an incredible experience in itself. The lush greenery and huge trees added to the beauty making it even more captivating. We visited other places such as Mattupetty Lake and Dam and rode an elephant for the first time in our lives on our Kerala tour for 5 days and it was fascinating to say the least.

2. Taking The Off-Road Jeep Safari

Jeep Safari

A trek to an ideal, off-beat, lesser known place known as Gavi Forest is all that we needed to be lost in the wilderness. It was a part of our 5 day trip to Kerala. The ride was fun-filled and adventurous. At the forest we came across a wide variety of wildlife which was genuinely a treat to watch. We had a time of our life while we were on this Safari for the thrill it offered. We say visiting Thekkady and undertaking the Off-Road Jeep Safari is a must. Our Kerala 5 days itinerary was a lot of fun and we will always cherish the moments.

3. A Day At The Backwaters (Shikara Boat Ride)

luxurious houseboats

comfort and luxury

unbound beauty

 beauty of Kerala

When we spent time during our Kerala Trip Plan for 5 days amidst backwaters surrounded by Mango and Coconut trees, we wanted the trip to be eternal. The backwaters offered us a respite from everything and we felt that the best way to soak in the purity and the unbound beauty of Kerala is by staying in one of the luxurious houseboats. The gorgeous views of flora and fauna and the comfort and luxury it offered was immense and made our experience worthwhile.

There are different ways to reach Kerala. The best and the fastest way to reach via airplane. It is very convenient and a hassle free journey to Kerala.

Train’s too are very effective and super cheap.

  • Do not carry heavy bags if you are planning to visit several cities
  • Always carry mineral water
  • Do negotiate before hiring a houseboat
  • Do not go out post 7 PM in Munnar and Thekkady as it gets a lot of fog and wild animals come out.
  • If you are planning for Kerala, then keep at least 5-7 days of time
  • While Alleppey and Munnar are the most popular destinations do not miss Thekkady.
  • Try to plan your trip during weekdays so that you find lesser crowd and you enjoy to the fullest.
  • Elephant ride, Off road jeep safari, Shikara boat ride are a must.
  • Do not miss ayurvedic massage in Kerala. It’s very relaxing.

Our experience with TravelTriangle was the best one we had till date. The best part was I got four quotes which gave me options to explore and choose the most suitable one. Right from start TravelTriangle’s agents were very helpful in every aspect. Each day of my trip, I got a call from TravelTriangle’s associate to check if I am facing any problems. Everything was perfectly managed. A special thanks to Rocking trips.

As our experience of how we spent 5 days in Kerala would have told you, the destination is a heaven for those who want to experience some extremely beautiful beaches and backwaters. There is so much to see you will be shocked but more than that you will be spellbound for a small place has so much to explore. So, think no more and go ahead and plan your trip to Kerala with TravelTriangle for some thrill. And happy times

For us, Bali was like a complete dream come true destination where there were so many places to explore around. From the lush-green rice terraces to the Temen coffee plantations, the island is blessed with the true nature’s beauty. We were already mesmerized to witness the undaunted beauty, but there was more in the store for us to explore. Apart from this, there were ancient temples in Denpasar which left us completely speechless. And then not just this, we also hiked all to Mount Batur which is indeed one of the must place to visit in Bali. From that height, we enjoyed the beautiful view of the beautiful Batur Lake and the entire island. So whether its the beautiful architectures or the surreal landscapes, there was a lot to see here.

2. Lip Smackingly Delicious Food To Taste

When it came to discovering the food on the island, we would totally recommend Lembongan island which had a wide array for us to try out and relish. To satiate our craving for delicious Indian food we went to The Queens Of India restaurant and indeed it served the best food and also within our budget. So if you’re looking for some Indian restaurants in Bali, then you definitely know where to go now.

3. Exciting Shopping Spree

Bali is mostly famous for its handicrafts markets and these are some of the best souvenirs in Bali which one can buy. On the second day of our honeymoon in Bali, we went out to explore the market after enjoying the traditional Barong and Keris dance show.

And the best part about a destination is when the locals are friendly and feels like a family away from home. In Bali, the locals were supportive with us starting off from the hotel staff to the cab drivers, instructors and restaurant staff. They were very courteous and polite and made our trip convenient and memorable.

  • Fancy candlelight dinner at “Queens Of India” in Kuta

  • Plan your travel to Bali during May-July period as it’s peak tourist season there.

The beauty of the Himalayas had always inspired Mohini and her BFF. So, when it was time to take a ladies-only trip to see these mighty mountains up close, while also ensuring their safety, there couldn’t have been a better choice than the land of happiness itself! And here’s how they actually ended up making their 6 day all girls trip to Bhutan downright exciting and unforgettable!

I had wanted to take an exclusive trip with my best friend for a really long time now. And seeing that we both are absolutely crazy about snowy mountains, we picked Bhutan for our next adventure in 2019. Another reason for picking Bhutan was the fact that it is absolutely safe for an all girls trip and the Tiger’s Nest trek promised to be a great feat!

Now the next concern we faced was taking this girls-duo trip to Druk within our budget without compromising on the best experiences. That’s when TravelTriangle came to our rescue!

In no time at all, the smooth planning process was out of the way, and we were heading down to this beautiful country together, ready for the adventure of our lives!

Trip Type: Friends
Trip Cost: INR 46,500/-
No. Of People: 2
Trip Duration: 5 Nights 6 Days
Inclusions: Breakfast, accommodation, non AC transfers, immigration charges
Exclusions: Lunch, dinner, entry fees, travel insurance

Day 1: Pick-up at NJP Railway Station in Siliguri | Drive to Phuensholing | Shopping | Dinner and overnight stay
Day 2: Transfer to Thimphu | Sightseeing | Overnight stay in Thimphu
Day 3: Transfer to Punakha via Dochu La Pass | Chimi Lhakhang & Punakha Dzong | Overnight stay at Punakha
Day 4: Transfer to Paro | Drugyal Dzong & Kichu Lhakhang | Overnight stay at Paro
Day 5: Tiger’s Nest trek | Transfer to Phuentsholing for overnight stay
Day 6: Departure

We would like to start by sharing some of our most priceless experiences from the trip that you totally shouldn’t miss out on your own holiday in Bhutan.

went to so many best attractions

amazing view

Shopping is an integral part of any girls trip. And Bhutan turned out to be a paradise for shopaholics like ourselves! We found ourselves some amazing stuff to take back home as gifts, lucky charms, and mementos for friends and family. In particular, I found Paro to be a really good shopping place.

All the products were at affordable prices and we ended up buying more than we had planned. While shopping in Paro, we bought hand made scarves for our girl gang, wind chimes for family members, and various other trinkets.

religious flags of Bhutan

visiting to the temple

We had the great honor of meeting and being blessed by His Majesty, King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck, the present reigning Druk Gyalpo or “Dragon King” of the Kingdom of Bhutan. We were on our way to Thimphu when we stopped by at the Tashichhodzong, the main secretariat building and one of the best places to visit in Thimphu that we had included in our Bhutan trip itinerary.

discovered so many best attractions

ta the temple for seeking blessings

Splendid view of valley

We discovered that the locals of Bhutan are so welcoming and friendly. Everywhere we went, Bhutanese people appreciated and greeted us with warm smiles. You are least likely to come across cheats and frauds in this country. And the people of Bhutan will do all in their efforts to make sure that their visitors have a safe and peaceful trip, and only take home good memories.

These 6 days of our trip were enough to tell us why Bhutan is considered to be a really safe destination for female travelers. We used to love spending time with the Bhutanese people, and playing with some adorable children by the riverside will always serve to be a truly beautiful memory of our vacation.

Even Chhetri uncle, our guide-cum-driver, was an extremely courteous and generous fellow. We are happy he accepted the gift we gave him at the end of our trip as a kind gesture for his endless services.

exploring the city and street

the famous bridge of Bhutan

We have fallen in love with Bhutanese cuisine!

As Bhutanese cuisine is somewhat similar to Indian cuisine being so close in terms of location and culture, we did not have trouble finding good food here. And then we totally loved Bhutanese food, right down to the flavors and the variety. The momos here are awesome, no matter which street vendor or roadside stall you buy it from.

We will always remember the tantalizing taste of the delicacies we tried, including Thukpa (soupy noodles with vegetables and/or chicken), Ema Datshi (made with chilies and cheese), Red Rice, Zow Shungo, Jaju Soup, Churpi (a sweet and salty candy made out of yak milk), and much more. We even tried various organic fruits like apples and oranges, which were absolutely fresh and juicy. Being a tea lover, I tried out Suja, the local tea of Bhutan made with butter, salt, and soda, and found it to be a refreshing and delicious break from the regular Indian tea.

Tigers Nest in Bhutan

took some best shots while hiking

The most adventurous experience of our trip was the trek to the Paro Taktsang Monastery near Paro. Famous as the Tiger’s Nest, this was, hands down, the best attraction we visited on our trip, and hiking the 12 km distance to this majestic sanctum was an experience of a lifetime!

The serenity and the divine vibes of this place put us in a trance! Situated at a height of almost 10,000 feet, it felt really awesome to be up here and revel in its aura that was both modest and overwhelming at the same time. Needless to mention, the view from up here was utterly breathtaking!

  • Carry a small umbrella at all times, as it can rain any time in some parts of Bhutan, especially Pheuntsholing.
  • Wear sturdy trekking shoes for the trek to Tiger’s Nest. Don’t rely on flip flops or sandals.
  • Carry small packets of snacks like ‘chikki’, dry fruits, or ‘namkeen’, as you may need it during the road journey and while trekking.
  • If you are traveling to Bhutan in the month of April, you will find a pleasant, but slightly chilly weather in Thimphu. Carry a light jacket.
  • Do not litter around. Small school children come to clean tourist places in Bhutan which is not a very pleasant sight!
  • Respect local traditions, the places you visit, and most importantly, the people of Bhutan.
  • Use ‘Pay & Use’ toilets only. You’ll find plenty of them wherever you go in Bhutan.
  • Do not shout or discuss in Tibetan monasteries.
  • Do not smoke in public places or in front of people.

The best places to stay during the month of May in Bhutan is Thimpu. The wet season in Bhutan starts in May but it is certainly the best time to visit Bhutan. Most of the days are clear during this month, however, tourists can expect a bit of rainfall, not too heavy at this time. Temperatures range from 13 degrees to 30 degrees whole of this month with respect to the areas you are staying in.

  • Comfortable cotton trousers
  • Sun hat
  • Comfortable sneakers
  • Torch for trek
  • Sunglasses
  • Suncreen Lotion
  • Insect repellent cream
  • Wind Stopper jackets for high altitudes

We are very impressed with the services provided by TravelTriangle and our agent. All the agents were very helpful and kept us fully updated about the plan for each day. We would like to make a special mention of thanks to Chhetri uncle, our guide-cum-driver who took great care of us throughout the trip. He is a really amazing person! TravelTriangle and Yes Tourism India made this trip really successful and comfortable.

We’re sure this delightful all girls trip to Bhutan has left you with a longing to visit the Land of the Thunder Dragons yourself. Hasn’t it? If you wish to pay our scenic and lovable neighbor a visit, rope in your gang and start planning your holiday in Bhutan via TravelTriangle right away.

We had quite a lot of doubts in mind from the moment we started planning our trip. Now we feel we can answer most of them for you so that you may not face the same hassles and are able to execute your Bhutan getaway smoothly.
